Imagina
Imagina was an international exhibition dedicated to new technologies, primarily focused on computer-generated images and 3D, held in Monaco from 1981 to 2011
Origins and Evolution
- Created in 1981 by the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) as part of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival
- Initially named "International Forum of New Images", it was renamed Imagina in 1986
- Organized annually by INA from 1981 to 2000
Content and Themes
- Focused on new technologies, particularly computer-generated images and 3D
- Topics covered: animation, generative art, special effects, virtual worlds, real-time, communication
- In 1995, the theme was the "Cyber Era", with presentations using GPS
Awards and Recognitions
- Creation of the "Pixel-INA" awards in 1985 to recognize creative works in computer-generated images
