?SNL': Alec Baldwin?s Trump Returns for ?It?s a Wonderful Life? Parody (Video) In its final episode before Christmas, “SNL” brought back Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump for a cold open sketch parodying “It’s a Wonderful Life,” dubbed “It’s a Wonderful Trump.” In this version of the story, Baldwin’s Trump feels despondent about the way his presidency is going and wishes that he had never become president. He’s led on this journey by Clarence, played here by “SNL” regular Kenan Thompson.
We also got a bunch of guest stars, including Robert De Niro back as Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Ben Stiller as Michael Cohen and host Matt Damon reprising his role as Brett Kavanaugh. Also Read: 'SNL': De Niro's Bob Mueller Pops Up in Eric Trump's Closet (Video) The whole thing is a parade of folks revealing that, unlike Jimmy Stewart’s George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” actually everyone’s lives would be better had he never become president. Kellyanne Conway, for example, says that “after we lost the campaign the devil gave me my soul back.” In this story Trump still did run for president, but he lost to Hillary Clinton. Or rather, “In this reality all she had to do to win was visit Wisconsin once,” Clarence says. The cavalcade of people whose lives are improved by Trump’s loss include Eric Trump, who walks in just as he solves a Rubik’s Cube. Since he doesn’t have to run the Trump organization, he’s taken adult education courses and is smart now. Also Read: 'SNL': Alec Baldwin's Trump Channels 'Evita' and Mopes About Putin's Bro-Down With MbS Melania (played by Cecily Strong), meanwhile, speaks perfect English because she and Trump got divorced — she says that being married to Donald was holding her language skills back. Meanwhile, Michael Cohen still loves Trump, Mike Pence has discovered his true calling as a DJ, Matt Damon’s Brett Kavanaugh is happy because people don’t think he’s weird when he says he likes beer, and E Niro’s Bob Mueller is happy that he has plenty of time to spend with his grandson. Trump himself has benefited as well — he now has a full head of normal hair thanks to the work of a Syrian immigrant who was never denied entry to the US. The lesson Trump learns from seeing that everyone’s lives would be better if he wasn’t president is that “the world does need me to be president after all.” “Not the lesson!” Thompson’s Clarence said. Jim Carrey Sees Red Over Migrant Child?s Death at Southern Border in Latest Artwork Jim Carrey has a colorful response to the death of a 7-year-old girl who died in border patrol custody last week… and that color is red. “Now an innocent seven-year-old girl has died of medical neglect because of Trump’s sadism at the border. If there’s a Hell…” Carrey wrote as a caption to his latest artwork: a tight portrait of President Trump, blood red and sweating. Carrey’s creation references a young girl who was detained after illegally crossing into New Mexico with her father, Nery Caal, and a large group of migrants seeking asylum on Dec. 6. according the Department of Homeland Security. Eight hours after being in U.S. custody, she began to have seizures and her body temperature shot up to 105.7-degree fever. She was transported to a hospital in El Paso, Texas, where she went into cardiac arrest and later died. Robyn: 'I didn't want to be a role model'
Chi Modu has photographed hip hop's biggest artists Donald Trump took aim at The Weekly Standard a day after the conservative magazine announced it would shut down on after 23 years. “The pathetic and dishonest Weekly Standard, run by failed prognosticator Bill Kristol (who, like many others, never had a clue), is flat broke and out of business. Too bad. May it rest in peace!” the president wrote on his Twitter account Saturday.
The magazine, founded by commentator Bill Kristol in 1995 but which has suffered in recent years as a rare conservative voice of anti-Trump opinion, confirmed the closure on Friday. The last issue will be published on Dec. 17. Also Read: Bill Kristol's The Weekly Standard to Shut Down: 'This Was the Step We Needed to Take' “Despite investing significant resources into the publication, the financial performance of the publication over the last five years — with double-digit declines in its subscriber base all but one year since 2013 — made it clear that a decision had to be made,” he added. “After careful consideration of all possible options for its future, it became clear that this was the step we needed to take.” Shadows had loomed over the magazine, which has defied other conservative media outlets by taking a consistently anti-Trump stance since the 2016 election, with questions about the Standard’s financial health as well as Clarity’s plans to expand its more pro-Trump outlet The Washington Examiner to include a weekly magazine of its own. “All good things come to an end. And so, after 23 years, does The Weekly Standard,” said founding editor Bill Kristol in a tweet. “I want to express my gratitude to our readers and my admiration for my colleagues. We worked hard to put out a quality magazine, and we had a good time doing so. And we have much more to do. Onward!” Also Read: Daily Beast Reporter Resigns After Plagiarism of Weekly Standard: 'We Take Plagiarism Seriously' There had previously been some chatter that Clarity would merge the two publications, but that possibility was ruled out on Friday. A rep for Clarity declined to comment on how many staffers would be laid off from the magazine. The decision to fold the Standard is a blow to legacy anti-Trump conservative media, which has come under growing audience pressure to fall into line with the current administration. The decision by Clarity brings to an end one of the most influential conservative magazines in the country. Founded in 1995 by Bill Kristol and Fred Barnes and published by Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp, the magazine was purchased by Clarity media in 2009. It’s most recent editor was Stephen F. Hayes. The Standard is the second major media property to fold up in just weeks. In November, millennial media outlet Mic laid off its entire editorial staff after months of declining traffic and the cancellation of its Facebook Watch program led to a cash crunch. Jennifer Lawrence Denies Sleeping With Harvey Weinstein, Shooting Down New Lawsuit?s Claim Jennifer Lawrence on Saturday shot down the suggestion that Harvey Weinstein had ever slept with her, an accusation that came to light in a lawsuit filed against the disgraced indie mogul earlier this week. On Wednesday, an unnamed woman filed a lawsuit accusing the mogul of inviting her to his hotel suite during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, masturbating in front of her while she was using the bathroom and ejaculating onto her skirt. The suit, which said that Weinstein “forcibly performed oral sex” on her, also alleged that he bragged to the woman: “I slept with Jennifer Lawrence.” The actress, who won an Oscar for the 2012 Weinstein-produced drama “Silver Linings Playbook,” denied that any such event took place. Also Read: Woman Says Weinstein Sexually Assaulted Her When She Was 16 “My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein,” Lawrence said. “I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him. This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women.” The suit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, said that the plaintiff — referred to as “Jane Doe” — first met Weinstein in January 2013 during the Sundance Film Festival, where she gave him her card in case there were opportunities for auditions. A Weinstein representative told TheWrap in a statement that there is “absolutely no truth” to the lawsuit’s accustaions. Related stories from TheWrap:

Film Review: ?Nona? Michael Weatherly’s former co-stars on “NCIS” expressed their support for the embattled “Bull” star following the news this week that CBS paid $9.5 million to actress Eliza Dushku to settle a sexual harassment claim against the actor. “This man… I love, respect, trust, and I KNOW. TWO decades of friendship and respect,” Pauley Perrette (Abby) wrote, sharing a photo of her and Weatherly. “The best. I love you @M_Weatherly. Always and forever.” Sasha Alexander (Caitlin) added: “I have been in trenches w/ my friend @M_Weatherly. Always laughs, true friend & [a heart] as big as they come.” CBS agreed to pay Dushku a multimillion-dollar settlement in January following her complaint that she was written off the drama “Bull” after she confronted series star Michael Weatherly about multiple instances of inappropriate behavior. On Thursday, the company issued a statement regarding the settlement:”The allegations in Ms. Dushku’s claims are an example that, while we remain committed to a culture defined by a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace, our work is far from done. The settlement of these claims reflects the projected amount that Ms. Dushku would have received for the balance of her contract as a series regular, and was determined in a mutually agreed upon mediation process at the time.” Women’s activist group Ultraviolet called for CBS to fire Weatherly. “CBS must immediately move to fire Michael Weatherly and send a clear example that sexual harassment and abuse will not be tolerated by anyone at the network – including both CEO’s and star actors’ alike,” Shaunna Thomas, co-founder and executive director of UltraViolet said in a statement. Weatherly starred on “NCIS” from 2003 to 2016. Related stories from TheWrap:

Seth Meyers Pleads to Save Canceled Comedy Central Series ?Detroiters': ?It Was Brilliantly Stupid? Count Seth Meyers among those lamenting the demise of “Detroiters.” In an op-ed for Vulture on Friday, the “Late Night” host professed his love for the sitcom, which was canceled earlier this week by Comedy Central after two seasons. “I am sad that, for now, ‘Detroiters’ will not have a third season,” he wrote. “I am hopeful that a network looking for a new jewel to fill its schedule will rescue it.” Meyers specifically called out the episode “Hark Motors,” as something that should’ve been lauded by critics the same way that the “Teddy Perkins” episode of FX’s “Atlanta” was. Also Read: 'Detroiters' Canceled by Comedy Central After 2 Seasons “Not only does it also include a trip to a strange man’s mansion (this time, it’s the great Kevin Dorff), but you will also see my favorite special effect in a decade,” he wrote. “It’s a car that s—-. In fact, I would urge everyone to watch the cold open of this episode, which includes a full-throated defense of the superhero the Flash, a child slapping a grown man, a woman being told to hold onto a rope so she doesn’t slide around in the back of a van, and five other great jokes all in under two minutes. It was brilliantly stupid.” Meyers isn’t the only one who is hopeful the show will find a new home. Creator and star Sam Richardson (“Veep”) is also holding out hope that his comedy “will find a home elsewhere.” “Sadly, @Detroiters won’t be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central,” Richardson wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I’m proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you.” “Detroiters,” which co-starred “SNL” alum Tim Robinson, is a single-camera buddy comedy that centers on two local ad men (Richardson and Robinson) who make low-budget commercials in Detroit, Michigan. Kanye?s Beef With Ariana Grande Leads to Tweetstorm About Mental Health, Jesus and Meds A tweet from Ariana Grande led to Kanye West going on a lengthy tweetstorm Saturday morning in which he opened up about his feud with Drake, his own mental health and how Chance the Rapper helped him “reconnect” with his faith. This all started earlier this week, when West’s on-again-off-again feud with fellow rapper Drake was turned back “on.” Grande appeared to reference the two in a tweet Wednesday night, writing: “guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u” West didn’t take to kindly to that, answering back on Saturday morning with, “don’t use me or this moment to promote a song.” Shortly thereafter, Grande responded, writing: “With all due respect, I don’t need to use anyone to promote anything. Period. I was making a comment [about] what men were doing at the time vs. women. It was a joke which I understand now was probably insensitive. I apologize if I was in any way triggering and hope you feel well today.” Also Read: Kanye West Apologizes for Using Cellphone During Broadway's 'The Cher Show'
West then went on a long tweetstorm regarding his own mental health (he was briefly hospitalized in 2016 after suffering a mental breakdown) and touched on his long-simmering feud with Drake. “No one would ever choose to end up in a mental hospital and diagnosed with a mental disorder but god chose me to publicly go through this journey and it is beautiful,” Ye wrote. “I am able to experience first hand how people who have mental health issues get written off by society. Don’t listen to him cause he’s crazy. He’s washed cause he’s crazy etc…” Also Read: From Kanye Gossip to Feet Photos, How Hollywood Wants to Clickbait You Into Voting West also said he chose to go off his medication six months ago, and now he “can feel me again.” “I cannot be on meds and make watch the throne level or dark fantasy level music,” he wrote. “You don’t make runaway on medication Even alcohol is and addictive substance called spirits that actually block our earthly connection to our spirit when we drown ourselves in it.” Grande’s ex-fiancee, “SNL” regular Pete Davidson, took sides in an Instagram post Saturday… and he chose Yeezy. “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health,” Davidson wrote in a post that has since been taken down. “I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.” You can read more of his tweets below: Also Read: Louis Farrakhan Defends Kanye West: Rapper 'Was Right' About 13th Amendment (Video)

Holiday Travel Survey Reveals Airlines With Best In-Flight Entertainment (Warning: This post contains spoilers for “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale”) We have good news and bad news for all you “Riverdale” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” fans hoping for a crossover. The good: The “Sabrina” holiday episode, “A Midwinter’s Tale,” does feature an Archie Comics reference. The bad: It’s not a direct shout-out to The CW series set in the same universe as Netflix’s dark take on the teen witch. “The biggest reference isn’t really a ‘Riverdale’ reference, but it is an Archie Comics reference,” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Chief Creative Officer at Archie Comics and the showrunner on both The CW’s “Riverdale” and Netflix’s “Sabrina,” told TheWrap in an interview ahead of the holiday episode’s launch on Friday. Also Read: 'Sabrina' Creator on How Threat From Holiday Special Sets Up 'Sexier,' 'Scarier' Season 2 “Susie [played by Lachlan Watson] is dressed up as a Christmas elf called Jingles,” Aguirre-Sacasa says. “And Jingles the Christmas Elf is an actual Archie Comics character who appears in Riverdale every Christmas to have mischief with the kids. So I’ve been wanting to tell a Jingles the Christmas Elf story for a long, long time. So it’s not from ‘Riverdale’ the TV show, but it is from the Archie comic books.” And Sabrina’s (Kiernan Shipka) friend is pretty stoked about the gig they have working as an elf assistant to a mall Santa, played by the grumpy Mr. Bartell. Well, that is until Susie finds out he’s actually a demon who turns children into life-size figurines and is coming for them, too. ?Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse? Swings to Top Box Office Spot Sony’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is hitting analyst expectations and taking the top spot at this weekend’s box office, earning $12.6 million on Friday and on track to finish the weekend with a $35.5 million opening from 3,813 theaters. With a $90 million budget, “Spider-Verse” is looking to leg out through the holiday season, as kids are only just starting to get out of school for holiday break and are expected to turn up in droves with their families to matinee screenings over the next three weeks. The film has received overwhelming critical and audience acclaim, earning an A+ on CinemaScore and a 98 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, which should lead to strong word of mouth. By comparison, the Illumination movie “Sing” opened to $35 million in December 2016 and went on to post a domestic theatrical run of $270 million. Also Read: 'Mortal Engines' Film Review: Dazzling Sci-Fi Fantasy Takes Big Risks and Succeeds In second is Warner Bros.’ “The Mule,” which is also posting a solid opening after earning $5.8 million on Friday and is estimated for an $18.5 million launch from 2,588 screens. Clint Eastwood’s $50 million crime film is only getting a slightly positive reception from critics with a 64 percent RT score, but it has won over the veteran actor-filmmaker’s fans with an A- on CinemaScore. Like “Spider-Verse,” “The Mule” will attempt to leg out over the holiday season, but with older audiences looking for an alternative to superheroes. The big bomb of the weekend is Universal’s “Mortal Engines,” which had a reported budget of over $100 million and is projected to finish below its already abysmal tracker projections with an opening of just $8 million and fifth place on the charts. While the marketing for this steampunk dystopian film flaunted the phrase “From the makers of ‘The Lord of the Rings'” — Peter Jackson and filmmaking partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens wrote the script — critics panned the film as dramatically inert, giving the film a 28 percent RT score while audiences gave it a B- on CinemaScore. Also Read: 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' Scores $3.5 Million at Thursday Box Office Universal is expected to take a hit on this film, marking a tough end to what has been a strong 2018 with over $1.7 billion grossed domestically. Universal co-financed the film with Media Rights Capital, with Jackson’s WingNut Films also producing. On the bright side for Universal, Illumination’s “The Grinch” continues to hold up strong as a Christmas family film, estimated to earn $12.7 million in its sixth weekend as it steams towards the $250 million domestic mark. The film is now guaranteed to be the top grossing family film from last month’s competitive market, as it has finished above Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet” on this weekend’s charts. After three weekends at No. 1, the Disney film has fallen to fourth on the charts with an estimated $9.5 million weekend. Outside the top ten is Fox’s “Once Upon a Deadpool,” a Christmas-themed, PG-13 cut of the studio’s “Deadpool 2” with new footage starring Ryan Reynolds and Fred Savage. Released on Wednesday, the film is looking at a $3.6 million five-day opening, with one dollar of every ticket donated to Fudge Cancer. Related stories from TheWrap:

Westmoreland has appeared in television shows such as “Better Call Saul,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Scandal,” and films such as “Godzilla” (1998). Representatives for Westmoreland did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap. Related stories from TheWrap:

Harvey Weinstein Accused of Forcibly Performing Oral Sex on Woman in New Lawsuit Harvey Weinstein’s legal entanglements grew this week, as the disgraced film mogul was sued by a woman who said Weinstein masturbated in front of her while she was using the bathroom and ejaculated onto her skirt, and, in another instance, “forcibly performed oral sex” on her. The suit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, says that the Jane Doe plaintiff first met Weinstein in January 2013 during the Sundance Film Festival, where she gave him her card in case there were opportunities for auditions. The next day, the suit says, Weinstein invited her to his hotel suite, ostensibly to discuss a potential film. According to the suit, the plaintiff went to the restroom during the meeting and, while she was sitting on the toilet with her tights around her ankles, Weinstein walked in on her, unbuttoned his jeans, dropped his pants and “exposed his penis while telling her, ‘I like looking at you,’ ‘My d— is nice and hard for you’ and asking, ‘Do you like my d—?’ and instructing her ‘Let me look at you.'” Also Read: Harvey Weinstein Email Leaked: 'I've Had the Worst Nightmare of My Life' According to the suit, she replied “no,” but Weinstein moved closer to her while masturbating, and says eventually Weinstein “ejaculated directly onto her skirt.” The suit alleges other incidents. During another instance, the suit says, when they went to Weinstein’s office ostensibly so Weinstein could give her a copy of a script for a film “Vampire Academy,” Weinstein pushed her down and “forcibly performed oral sex” on the plaintiff, who began “audibly sobbing.” According to the suit, the woman later confronted Weinstein, and he told her, “Don’t be such a prude. I didn’t even f— you.” After which, the suit says, Weinstein grabbed her from behind, began talking dirty to her in front of a mirror “and began masturbating while restraining her movement. When she began sobbing, he became agitated and annoyed and stormed away.” Also Read: Paz de la Huerta Files Sexual Battery Lawsuit Against Harvey Weinstein The suit further alleges that Weinstein and The Weinstein Company, also named in the suit, “made misrepresentations to Plaintiff to guarantee her silence about Weinstein’s unlawful conduct, and to create a paper-trail of communications between the two to prevent Plaintiff from reporting his conduct or instituting legal proceedings.” It also alleges that Weinstein and TWC “would only have fulfilled their promises of casting Plaintiff in TWC films if Plaintiff had sex with Weinstein. Because she would not consent, Weinstein and TWC strung her along, through a carefully orchestrated series of misrepresentations, to prevent her from reporting him and instituting legal proceedings.” TheWrap has reached out to representatives for Weinstein’s attorney and The Weinstein Company for comment on the suit, which alleges assault, sexual battery, discrimination and harassment and other counts, and seeks unspecified damages. The reps did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
