Afriques en Scène
Afriques en Scène is a 1901 association founded in 2010 by Gérard La Cognata. Its main objective is to promote knowledge of African societies and cultures through various cultural events. The association has joined forces with Le Local to organize the Rencontres Cinématographiques du Pays Marennes Oléron, entitled Visions d'Afrique.
The association is involved in a number of commissions, including cinema, literature and debate animation. It also organizes school sessions and manages social networks and graphic design.
Objectives
Afriques en Scène's objectives include promoting African cultures, raising awareness of the realities of African communities in France, and organizing cultural events to foster mutual understanding.
Visions d'Afrique
Visions d'Afrique is a film event that began in 2010 with the screening of African films in Saint-Pierre d'Oléron. Since then, it has grown to become an important platform for the dissemination of African cinema in France.
